Firefighter Stephen J Reilly was remembered today with a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Staten Island. He died of cancer related to his 9/11 service. After the funeral Mass, family members were presented with FDNY items, including his helmet.
Attending were his company, Engine 155, Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro, and many firefighters, family, and friends. During the funeral, a call came in for a high angle rescue of a worker, and some of the mourners who were on duty left with lights and sirens. One firefighter holds his handy talkie to listen to the “run”. While another looks down the street to view responding tower ladder #79.
