NYPD promises strict enforcement of traffic laws over July Fourth Holiday.

Taxi and Limousine Commissioner and Chair Aloysee Heredia-Jarmoszuk urged New Yorkers to enjoy the holiday but not drive while impaired. Instead, she suggested taxis, ride share vehicles and car services as transportation.
Two Highway Division motorcycle officers will be among the police officers on patrol starting Friday.
NYPDÕs Chief of Transportation Kim Royster and other city officials urged New Yorkers not to drive drunk or on drugs during the Independence Day Holiday weekend. Royster promised enhanced enforcement of traffic regulations.
Gesturing to the motorcycle cops behind her, Royster warns motorists that if they drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs instead of taking a cab, ÒWe have a ride for you.Ó
