The Staten Island Half Marathon is part of the New York Road Runners series of 13.1 mile races in each of the
five boroughs of New York City. Today was Staten Island’s turn. The race was broken into two waves of runners,
starting at 8 am on Bay Street in the St George section of the island. The runners ran towards the Verrazzano
Bridge, then followed the roadway to Fr Capadanno Boulevard, and reversed their path. The weather was sunny
and cool, but that did not deter the crowds and one runner who ran shirtless.
